Pick-Your-Own Asparagus
Our Practices
Asparagus is a perennial.
And, yes, you can pick your own asparagus!
Through careful management, a single patch of asparagus may continue to produce for years.
Our asparagus is never sprayed with pesticides. We cultivate the patch several times throughout the spring to control weeds mechanically.
After the harvest season, we allow the patch to grow wild. In the fall, we mow the thick vegetation down, adding a natural mulch to the soil.
The asparagus aka “grass” is the first plant to emerge in the following spring.
Picking Season
The season typically runs from the beginning of May through early June.

Grab the stalk about an inch above the ground and bend until the asparagus snaps. And voila! You have a fresh stalk.
