A long-time friend of the farm, Wilfredo Morel has shaped our farm’s artist community. We strive to make our farm a closed system, where every output of one component is a potential input to another component.

As a sculptor, Wilfredo repurposes broken equipment parts into stunning metal sculptures in his mechanic’s shop, which also serves as his studio. Every item repaired or transformed becomes a piece of art.

Wilfredo has been creating metal sculpture installations throughout the Hudson Valley since 1991. His creations range from semi-abstract images, to representational bronze sculptures and metal wall reliefs. He has also developed a series of art projects to facilitate participation in vulnerable communities.

Hours

Ad-hoc studio time, approximately one weekend per month.

Location

Wilfredo’s studio is in the mechanic’s shop just behind the farm market (left of the goats). His sculptures are scattered throughout the farm. He also created the lighted Red Hook on top of our silo.
